Sudanese Mi-172

Seen at Kazan and awaiting loading for delivery to the Al Quwwat al-Jawwiya As-Sudaniya back in August 2009, is Mi-172 ST-GFK. One of possibly two in use on VIP and Govermental transportation task's from the Military side of Khartoum IAP, and adjacent to the Defence Headquater's.

Seen at Manching on the 7th February, was this brand new EC-135 for the Force Aerienne Gabonaises. TR-KCZ (c.n.0956) is believed to be part of an oder for two.

North Yemeni IL-14 Crate

This IL-14 became lost after its crew became disorientated, and mistakingly landed at Lodar, where it captured. and its crew returned to North Yemen. The Aircraft was flown back to Britain for testing. Although carrying North Yemeni markings, the aircraft is Egyptian. and is serialed 1148.

South Arabian Jet Provost's!

During 1967 the British Goverment set about creating the South Arabian Air Force before independance, headquartered at Khormaksar. For offensive dutie's, 4 former Royal Air Force Jet Provost T.MK.4's were converted to armed T.MK.52's. Serial number 103 is seen here prior to being crated for onward delivery.

101 is seen here, low over the Southern Arabian landscape. They were destined to carry their markings for only a few weeks, since after independance, the Country was to became South Yemen, and the roundel was soon replaced.




Qatari Hunter!

Qatar ordered 3 Hunter FGA.MK.78's and a single Hunter T.MK.79 during 1969. After  refurbishment and a period in store, they were delivered shortly after Qatar's independance from the UK, and based at Doha. The photos above come from the excellent HawkerHunter.com. and show two image's of QA-12 and the sole duel seater QA-13 bottom. They were retired from service during 1982, and very few photo's exist of them in Qatari service, so if anyone has some, and would like to show them, email me!

Somali Hunter!

CC-705 (c.n.HAB/003091) is one of around 5 ex Abu Dhabi Hunter FGA.MK.76's that were supplied to the Somali Air Force during 1982. Also included in the transfer were a single Recce configured FR.MK.75A and a couple twin seat T.MK.77's.

Spare's and trained pilot's for the aircraft were a problem for the Somalian's with some aircraft being canabilised to keep the other's airworthy. CC-702 is seen here derelict at Baidoa during June 1993.

CC-705 again, though this time abandoned and derelict at Baidoa. Behind, is one of the Somali Air Force's two T.MK.77's serialed CC-711.

Hunter T.MK.77 CC-711 is sen here beating up the runway in better day's. The Somali's simply used the old Abu Dhabi serials, prefixed with the letters CC, and applying their roundals over the Abu Dhabi fin flash.

Trinidad And Tobago C-26A

This C-26B Metro III is one of two (Serial's 215 & 216) ex USAF aircraft that are operated by the Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force Air Wing, and operated by the Fixed Wing Flight out of Port of Spain - Piarco IAP.

216 is equipped with a radar fit below the rear fuselage, used in conjunction with it Drug Interdiction role. She is seen here, operating out of Scarborough-Crown Point, where the Air Guard has a secondary operating facility.

Oman's Royal EC-225LP

Seen here staging through Greece on delivery to Oman's Royal Flight during 2007, is the first of that service's 6 EC.225LP Super Puma MK.II's that have replaced the earlier version's transferred to the Air Force. Seriels are:-

A40-HMA
A40-HMB
A40-HMC
A40-HMD
A40-HME
A40-HMH

They are based at Muscat -Seeb International.

A rare bird that is hardly ever reported to have served with the Armenian Air Force, is this AN-12BP Cub (c.n.5343209) EK-11660. Seen here at Erebuni under heavy maintenace, she was suffured severe damage and subsequently written off  in an accident at Point Noire, Congo DR in 2008, whilst in operation with Aero-Service.

The rarities continue, this time they are a pair of MiG-23's taking part in a Armenian fly past some years ago. Although most likely Russian Aircraft based at Yerevan, there have been consistant rumours of some having been supplied to Armenia. If they were, then these are them!

Another rare Bird, is this MiG-25PD Foxbat stored at Yerevan and still carrying the red star. It does in fact belong to the Armenian Air Force. though has proberly never been flown by them!
